Given the exponential growth and worldwide dissemination of technology, media literacy is a tool that may create a person. This is especially true for the next generation of workers, who will inherit a workforce that is heavily reliant on the knowledge and skills acquired in the digital era. Given the rapid pace of technological advancement between generations, it has become clear that there is a huge gap between youth culture of the past and youth culture of the present. The fact that all information can now flow instantly, regardless of location, is proof of this; this was not possible in the past due to globalization. Disagreement arose from subsequent comparisons and misconceptions. The resulting problems matched those of the media-related generational divide among young people today. As a result of an ideological divide, a new phenomenon known as “cancel culture” has developed, in which young people actively seek out and reject news and information that contradicts their worldview. Even now, many people engage in this practice on various social networking sites. This often happens when individuals pass judgment on someone based on a single incident, whether it’s from their past or present, without considering all of the relevant factors. Worst part is that by the time the story ends, the “canceled” person’s reputation has taken a serious hit, which can have a devastating effect on their mental health. What’s more, even after the issue has been resolved, the internet will always remember the trending content and will never delete it. Having said that, as time goes on and technology and youth culture progress, some young people have a knack for picking up new skills at the same rate as their blunders. People nowadays are more likely to verify claims with other sources, and some even go so far as to stand up for what they believe in, showing that there is hope despite the pessimism in the media. Today, it’s simple to have a voice, but it’s also easy to have it misunderstood, so being media literate means understanding when to speak and what to say. Unfortunately, there are some individuals who like hacking private servers or even government-owned websites for pleasure. This is problematic since these servers and websites often store personal information about individuals, which may have serious consequences for those persons. For no good reason, some students have spread anonymous viruses via email; these infections have gotten out of hand to the point that they have compromised government websites and private emails belonging to organizations, causing the deletion or corruption of crucial data. Not only may this compromise the government’s services and the company’s bottom line, but it also has the potential to delete or corrupt every person’s crucial data. One film about a man who strove to achieve the impossible without thinking about how his actions might impact the people around him, the influence he may unwittingly impart, the laws he might break, or the damage he could do to himself is relevant to the idea of media freedom.
It seems that Philippe Petit pulled off a record-breaking trick, as detailed in his biography by James Marsh, thanks to all this movie-going phenomena, similar to what happens on the predictions and bets that sports watchers enjoy. When it came to Petit’s world-renowned wire act, I mean, who, in their right mind, would dare to walk on a thin metal wire between two skyscrapers? Despite these pretenses of wonder and amazement. After the fact, authorities detained him on suspicion of committing a crime, such as trespassing on private property and planning the prank as if it were a bank robbery. I had anticipated that the reasoning for their position would be to give him the benefit of the doubt for his incredible deed, but the law would have it that he violated it and was blatantly wrong. Because of these events, I was able to formulate an opinion about my position within the context.
Despite the fact that the performance was breathtaking and served as an inspiration to many in the crowd. For viewers, this might be both a blessing and a curse, leading them to believe that breaking the law is acceptable if it brings them pleasure or helps others around them. Because of certain things, I may say that I am opposed to the concept of regularly doing these stunts: First, further unlawful antics; second, encouraging young people to follow their hearts, even if it means breaking the law; and third, suggestions for other kinds of criminal behavior.
Though the act was incredible in its own right, the more spectacular it seems, the more the risk it poses to others, particularly the law enforcement. This is why it’s against the law to pull off dangerous stunts: the safety of the performer and the property owner are paramount. Without really breaking the law, the owners may nonetheless be held responsible, spark controversies about the violation of their security, and harm their image. They are not completely at fault, yet they may still be held responsible. There are plenty of other places to do stunts, but these thrill seekers will always choose the most extreme, risky, and illegal options because they believe it will give them a greater sense of accomplishment. These may serve as a source of motivation for young people as they make important life choices. Although there should be a lot more legal hoops to go through, it is certainly possible to pull out record-breaking antics. There are laws that we must follow. These are necessary for the final stand to be intentionally feasible. Fancy occurrences have a way of drawing attention away from minor unlawful behaviors; problems may expose systemic weaknesses; and the more vulnerabilities exist, the easier it is to impose rules that aren’t really necessary. Based on all of this, it’s safe to say that the documentary has its merits, but ultimately, they amount to little more than motivation to attempt the impossible, which brings us full circle to the tragic truth: not all dreams come true. In reality, being aware of one’s limitations—whether it be in terms of attaining a record or just according to natural and governmental regulations—is what keeps societies relatively calm. We should be grateful for this, since our predecessors battled for these laws to be in place.
Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. In the media, for example, certain issues may be quickly resolved with a single click, but one’s reputation can be ruined with the same ease. In today’s youth culture, media literacy can be both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, young people have all the information they need to make informed decisions, but on the other, they may use this knowledge to either ignore or assert their rights as citizens. Using them for the better may have a major influence from this generation until the series of generations that follow, since they are demonstrated to be associated with each other. It is also possible to act lawfully while yet speaking up for what you believe in or doing something that would benefit society or yourself. Hopefully, you gained some insight into the significance of media literacy and its relationship to the biography Man on Wire from his essay.
